Wound Care and Hyperbaric Center

Wound Care and Hyperbaric CenterEveryone has heard that time heals all wounds but in truth, without advanced therapies, some wounds can take years to heal. Three Rivers Medical Center's Wound Care and Hyperbarics Center is area’s newest wound care and hyperbarics center.

With the rising rate of diabetes, there is a great need for a specialized care center that can treat the ulcers associated with the disease as well as help patients with other skin, bone and tissue conditions caused by illness or injury.

TRMC has partnered with Diversified Clinical Services to establish the center. The company has an average healing time of 34 days for stubborn wounds that have resisted treatment on average for six months, a 91.3% limb salvage rate and a 95.4% patient satisfaction rate.

Our Wound Care and Hyperbarics Center utilizes digital photographs and use of hyperbaric oxygen chambers to track the patient's healing progress. After performing a full diagnosis on a patient's first visit, photographs are taken of the wound at each subsequent visit to evaluate the therapy's progress. Likely candidates for treatment are those suffering from diabetic ulcers, pressure ulcers, infections, compromised skin grafts and flaps and wounds that haven't healed within 30 days. The center's hyperbaric oxygen chambers can also be used to treat patients suffering from such uncommon ailments as cyanide poisoning, gangrene, carbon monoxide poisoning, brown recluse spider bites or decompression sickness.

Truly, our new wound care center partnered with our diabetic health education program is just one more reason to choose Three Rivers Medical Center for your health care needs.
