Every year, Three Rivers Medical Center (TRMC) honors one outstanding employee.  The 2009 honoree was, Kathy New, quality coordinator/data abstractor.  She was chosen for her ongoing commitment to outstanding service, professional capabilities and extraordinary efforts.

As data abstractor, Kathy maintains patient records to comply with state and federal regulatory requirements.  She also services on several hospital committees, assists with health fairs and community wellness events. 

“Kathy was honored for exceeding above the standards in the performance of her duties and her dedication in helping TRMC to fulfill its mission to the community we serve,” said Greg Kiser, CEO.  “She takes great pride in her work and shows her loyalty to the nursing profession every day.”

She graduated from Owens College in Toledo, Ohio where she obtained her Associate Degree in Nursing.  She received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Phoenix and plans on pursing a dual Master’s of Science Degree in Nursing and Health Administration.  In her spare time she enjoys reading, quilting and volunteering with the East Kentucky Collie and Sheltie Rescue.  Kathy and her son reside in Louisa
